The Chaco War (1932-1935) remains an anonymous conflict, forgotten in the annals of the violent twentieth century. The devastation it wrought on this piece of land termed "el infierno verde" was nothing short of enormous. This work explores the genesis of the conflict, the effect of external influence from across the Western Hemisphere and by international actors, and the consequences of the conflict that lasted for generations.
