Beschreibung
This book, exploring the social history of football in Trabzon, seeks the roots of the identification of the city with the game. Football did not only function just as a sport or a recreational activity, but also it acquired an important role of carrying the city onto the national agenda. By taking into account other political, social and economic dynamics, the book aims to shed light both on the history of the game in Trabzon and of the city itself.
Autorenporträt
Sevecen Tunç is a PhD student in the Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History at Bogaziçi University, Turkey. She received her B.S. in economics in 2007 and her M.S. in modern Turkish history in 2009 from the same university. Her current research interest is history of football in Turkey.
