'Before the German Peasants War: Leitmotifs of Late Medieval Protest Movements up to 1525 ': On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Peasants War of 1525, this volume examines the extent to which the German Peasants War stood in the tradition of late medieval uprisings. Moving beyond the notion of a mere prehistory, the contributions analyse the long-term impact of key features of premodern revolts. The insurgents appear as politically astute actors who, even before 1525, sought political participation and solutions to resource conflicts.
