Body adornment can safely be used as a silent way of non-verbal communication.This proposition has a direct relevance for nomadic pastoralists such as the Samburu, who draw attention to the significance of personal adornment. All Kenyans must help to promote our traditional forms of adornment to assist in creating that image for ourselves as 'proudly Kenyans and provide employment opportunities for our people.

Dr. Ruth Njoroge holds a PhD in History from Egerton University. She also holds a Masters in History and a Bachelors of Education. She is a passionate writer in cultural history and biographical studies. She is a full-time lecturer at Mount Kenya University, a post-graduate supervisor and also the research coordinator.
