Essential Topics in West African History is a students' handbook for candidates offering West African History at Uganda Certificate of Education. The book contains notes of vital topics dating far back as the 7th Century when the famous Trans-Sahara trade was taking root up to the colonial era. The author has used the experience in teaching West African History to students of Katikamu SDA secondary School and Ndege College in developing this guide to students and teachers of history. A number of ancient empires, trade and politics of the later centuries have made part of the book in precise and yet sufficient terms. A number of books from re-known scholars such as Adu Boahen, Webster J.B, Onwubiko, Michael Crowther and Ajaye and J.D Fage have been consulted. However, students are urged to read them to add to the wealth of knowledge contained in this book and to master the understanding of history.
Autorenporträt
Batuuka Samuel was born on 15th June 1963 in Iganga Uganda. Studied History and Philosophy from Makerere University and did Masters in Philosophy, He taught History in Katikamu SDA secondary school from 1989 to 1993. He is serving officer with Government of the Republic of Uganda as Community Development Officer in Iganga District Local Government
