Karachi port has played a key role in transformation of Karachi city into an industrial hub and metropolitan city of Pakistan. Karachi port owning to its strategic geographical position, has exhibited significant importance in international as well as national affairs, wars and trades. In subject book, chronological historical development of Karachi port has been reported. This book has been divided into different periods dealing with Talpur regime (1795-1839), British Period (1839-1947) and post independence period. At the end, different old maps and pictorial glimpses of Karachi port have been placed to give insight to historical development of Karachi port.

Ms Irum Javed has completed her Master degree in (Pakistan Studies) from Pakistan Study Center, University of Karachi in year 2016. She has secured top 2nd position in her master class. She has bachelor degree in Library Information Science from same university. During her bachelor studies she also availed Higher Education Commission Scholarship.
