The book reflexes the actual ground position of Indias renowned employment scheme i.e. MGNREGA in the rural area of Punjab especially in the Sangrur & Mansa districts. The scheme has attained great attention from number of economists all around the world and it has proven to be a great success in number of states of India. But in already developed states i.e. Punjab & Haryana, the scheme has not able to perform much in increasing productivity etc. Therefore, the success story of the scheme especially in Punjab is much limited and it reflexes the reproduction of another Dig Holes Theory. The workers attached with the scheme have propounded number of things which shows the reality of MGNREGA at the rural level and its impact on the different sectors of economy.

The author is in teaching profession from the last more than 8 years and has recently completed his doctorate by having research in world's largest employment guarantee scheme i.e MGNREGA. He has also written number of short articles for various newspapers on various current, political and environmental issues.
