The book entitled 'Partition Literature' is about the predicament of women and the deaths of the innocent people during Partition violence. The partition of India and the creation of Pakistan divided the nation and the people into groups on the basis of religion. The partition of 1947 was the darkest episode in the history of Indian sub-continent. It is also known as the greatest human tragedy and mass migration. Partition is one of the worst episode in which people have witnessed bloodshed, kidnapping, rape, interfaith marriages, deaths of the innocents & so on. It was such a worst historical event which cannot be wiped off so easily and so soon. Today after seventy years the memories of Partition are fresh and alive. Its clear that since then we are witnessing the wars like Indo-Pak War, Kargil War, and terrorist attacks and so on.The book aims at analyzing the novels of Khushwant Singh, Amrira Pritam and Bhisham Sahani from the perspective of Partition Literature.The word Partition means bifurcation of the land, of the people, of the religions & of the hearts. In short Partition literature stands as one of the most important genres in the history of Indian literature.

Nagnath Ramrao Totawad, Asst.Prof.Dept.of English,Vivekanand Arts,S.D.Comm.& Sci.College, Aurangabad has been teaching at UG & PG level since 2005.He has published two & edited two books.He has completed two UGC MRP, organized two national seminars & published 30 research papers.Besides this eight research students are doing PhD under his guidance.
