Beschreibung

In Africa, children often speak a language different from the language of instruction they do not know. So they mostly experience numerous difficulties, particularly in composition. Because misunderstanding is persistent, this book is premised on the idea that the knowledge of the rhetorical patterns of Nafara will be largely beneficial. However, this entails the availability of written texts which Nafara does not have, since it is an oral language. The collection of Nafara tales allowed for building corpora that were analyzed, contrasted and compared. The pattern that coincided with the backbone in all the tales was actually their rhetorical pattern. Factoring in differences regarding the rhetorical pattern, among other considerations during instruction will help French production wise and benefit Nafara too, in due time. This book includes invaluable background resources such as the rich Senufo cultural patrimony, linguistic Darwinism, multilayered colonization, de-enculturation. It is a repository for anyone particularly interested in applied linguistics, anthropology, social studies, discourse analysis, ethnopoetics and the ethnography of communication.
