The purpose of this book is to present a general view of the theme of multiculturalism in Romania, with greater emphasis on the Muslim communities, in the attempt to identify the positive aspects of the relations between the state and the minorities and the elements which ascertain the existence of a functional model of cohabitation and tolerance. This reflection is set in the vaster context of the Muslim communities in Europe that have generated, during the last decades, numerous discussions regarding the cultural and socio-political fundaments of the societies in the region and their administration of multicultural realities.
