In recent years many governments around the world have stepped up campaigns on basic education in order to meet the Millennium Development Goal of Universal Primary Education. However, very little attention has been given to what goes on in and around schools. Children continue to suffer School-related Gender-based Violence in school, paradoxically, the place that is supposed to provide safety and protection to them. What is more disturbing is that School-related Gender-based Violence is so tolerated and has become an integral and institutionalized part of life, almost regarded as normal. This book provides an in depth report on a study carried out in Kasarani District of Kenya, on how Children suffer School-related Gender-based violence in silence.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Literature and English and a Masters in Gender and Development Studies from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya, currently enrolled for a PhD in the same university and teaching as a part-time lecturer.
